The Harry Potter series has seven books. It is
about a boy, Harry, who, in his eleventh birthday, discovers the truth about himself: he is a wizard and his parents were killed by the worst dark wizard
ever. From this day his life changes completely, and he goes to Hogwarts School
of Witchcraft and Wizardry - the most famous magic school -, where he meets his best friends Ron Weasley and
Hermione Granger. And the great adventure begins.

Pottermore: the JK's new project
The last book of the series was published in 2007, "closing" it. But it was not the end: in the same year, "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" would be released. The final film, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2", was released on July 15, 2011, aparently ending with the franchise. J. K. Rowling surprised everyone once again, and announced an project called "Pottermore", a website where fans could interact with each other, and experience a bit of the wonderful world of magic.
