The life of J. K. Rowling

The Creation of Harry Potter

In Edinburgh, Joanne started writing the Harry Potter script at bars while her daughter was sleeping. Everytime her daughter would wake up, she would stop writing and would go home. In June of 1997, "Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone" was released. The book soon became famous and the "Harry Potter Fever" started. Because of that, Rowling continued writing more and more books for the saga.

Other Facts

* In 2001, Joanne married for the second time with doctor Neil Michael Murray, and had two more children: the boy David Gordon Rowling Murray (born in 2003), and the girl Mackenzie Jean Rowling Murray (born in 2005)

* The name of J. K. Rowling's oldest daughter (Jessica) is inspired by one of Joanne's favourite writer, Jessica Mitford

 * It was confirmed this year (2012) that J. K. Rowling will write a new novel, but it's going to be destinated to adults and it will be a lot different than the Harry Potter series.
